Three Big Sporting Events in The Woodlands this April

April 19th – 23rd
The Chevron Championship

This is one of five major championships on the LPGA Tour.

The Championship will be held at The Club at Carlton Woods – Jack Nicklaus Course, the first time the tournament will take place in the Greater Houston area.

The event features some of the world’s most talented women athletes competing in the Tour’s first Major of the season.
Tickets start at $25 for daily grounds admission and up to $1,150 for a weekly pass at the. St. Luke’s Health Pavilion.

April 22nd
Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas Triathlon

This year the Ironman Triathlon was designated the 2023 Memorial Hermann Ironman Americas Championship, a regional championship that will attract athletes from all over the US as well as Canada, Mexico, and Central and South America.

The race will start at 6:25 am with a 2.4 mile swim in Lake Woodlands, followed by a 112 mile bike course from The Woodlands Parkway to the Hardy Toll road where they will complete two loops before heading back to the Start/Finish line, ending with a 3-lap 26.2 mile run around Lake Woodlands and finishing on Waterway Avenue.

Here are the best places to watch the race:
For the swimming event, you want to be along the Lake Woodlands bridge next to Northshore Park and the canal between Lake Woodlands and the finish line. For the bike course, you want to be along Lake Robbins Dr. and for the run, along the Waterway near Waterway Avenue.

Watch 78 of the best PGA TOUR Champions players at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.

Admission is free for general grounds admission, a tradition going back since 2008, and the first 1,000 spectators through the main gate Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive a complimentary gift item.

Tee Times to be announced the week of the Tournament.
